East & West Modalities Best

Experience Amazing Benefits

Do you ever feel exhausted from unrelenting pressures? Do hectic commutes and harried schedules make you breathless? Does life feel like you’re juggling a bunch of oily frogs? Our neck & shoulders usually take the brunt of stressors—this can range from mild tension to intense pain. Pain can surface anywhere, affecting our entire being. It is vital to regain balance.

Acupressure has brought relief to millions for millenniums. Gentle pressure is applied to local acu-points from head to toe. There are no needles, yet the same points acupucturists use are awakened-—this relieves pain, stimulates circulation, and facilitates toxin release. More recently, science has revealed these ‘potent points’ have higher electrical conductivity on the skin’s surface. A registered nurse, Sharon Schufman, sings the praises of Acupressure—she has brought welcome relief to countless patients in an East Bay hospital. Acupressure wonderfully integrates with Reflexology, Tui Na, and other synergistic massage modalities.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an amazing meridian tapping therapy—cutting edge research from Harvard University validates its credibility.

Reflexology is another restorative therapy applied primarily to the feet. (There are also reflex zones in the hands and ears). In Reflexology, the foot represents a central switchboard—it stimulates balance and toxin release related to specific areas of the body. Our feet reflect vital truths about us—surprising details can be learned from our feet as described in the book, Stories The Feet Can Tell by Eunice Ingham. You will be shown a wonderful foot graphic, and then experience a unique journey through this marvelous circuitry.

Both Acupressure & Reflexology are internationally esteemed therapies and used successfully in hospitals—they are synergistic gates that open into new wellbeing.

A rich mix of table therapies is now available. The opportunity to integrate Eastern & Western modalities creates superb healing synergists. My State Licensing journey at World School of Massage & Holistic Healing Arts has enabled me to add the following modalities:

Structural Foot Balancing (SFB)
SFB is a super compliment to reflexology. It involves massaging and stretching the feet in ways that help their 26 compact bones to have fluid freedom of movement. With consistent application, there are those who have actually thrown away their orthotics, reversed fallen arches and corrected hammer toes, etc. Come and experience a difference in even one session, and learn self-applied applications that can transform painful conditions into happy feet.

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a great way to relax, relieve stress and improve circulation to every major muscle group of the body. It’s also effective for chronic pain management. Muscle ‘knots & kinks’ are subdued and scar tissue conditions helped—this facilitates muscles returning to a healthy state. A variety of strokes are used that increases blood flow, and drains metabolic wastes from the limbs. If indicated, Deep Tissue Massage is a great synergist to integrate in this modality.

Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage targets deep layers of muscle, tendons and fascia needing special attention. Chronic muscle tension and adhesions are given release. Increased circulation relieves pain and inflammation. Many doctors recommend deep tissue massage to their patients due to its multiple, measurable benefits. Studies confirm deep tissue therapy lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, and boosts the ‘feel good’ hormones. Deep Tissue massage can eventually remove scar tissue as it improves the lymphatic system functions in the treated area. Deep tissue is often used in sports injury rehab—it relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and relieves pain. It is common to experience discomfort while receiving this therapy, and subsequent relief a day or two after. Also, icing the treated area can enhance results.

Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic massage is a boon to the immune system—it’s our body’s fluid intelligence system. If the system goes into overload, lymph gets sluggish and nodes tend clog and swell—it is important to manually stimulate movement to filter toxicity from body tissues. Since lymph has no circulatory pump, (as the heart does for blood), it often needs an efficiency boost. Lymphatic massage also helps relieve fluid retention and pitting edema in the extremities. This gentle modality is good after surgery, for digestive issues, congestion, etc. Efficient lymphatic circulation & drainage is vital to our health. (There’s a more vigorous lymphatic technique that’s great for general detox or healthy maintenance—it combines ‘Stroke of 1000 Hands’ & Vibrational Healing Massage, and Reflexology.)

Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy (VHMT—“Vibe”)
This curiously wonderful therapy was developed by Patricia Cramer, Founder of World School of Massage. VHMT is one of the most innovative, relaxing, integrating therapies I know. VHMT revitalizes balance and renews energy. It delves beneath the surface and fosters fluidity—not only in our joints, but in the way we think, live, move, and express our being. Vibe therapy helps us ‘break through’ and release holding patterns that keep us stuck. Areas we feel ‘locked up’, in pain, or whatever phenomena, can be from past traumas where our ‘stories’ become jammed into our muscles or joints. This bodywork facilitates the release of cellular memories that hold us hostage. VHMT rejuvenates muscles and integrates nerves, lymph, blood, and circulation—we can then be free to vibrate ‘in tune’, like a harmonious musical instrument.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a time-tested boon for a gamut of conditions—this includes stress, anxiety, insomnia, muscular and rheumatic pain, PMS—to name a few. This gentle therapy primarily includes the back, shoulders, and neck. The ear and feet reflex zones are also treated. If you’d like to take relaxation & rejuvenation to a new level, try aromatherapy. Eight essential oils of the world’s highest & purist quality are used—their superb effectiveness far outweighs their cost. Multiple respected sources and clinical studies affirm the profound effect of essential oil therapy.
